Training Contract

TLT LLP's recognised Training Programme combines the two most important aspects of the business: its clients and its people. From your very first day you will get involved with real client work and have plenty of client contact, even progressing to running your own cases.

As part of the ‘new wave’ of law firms, we encourage our solicitors to become legal business advisors. You’ll develop the necessary skills and experience to become free thinkers, finding commercially viable solutions for your clients, not just driving processes.

TLT's Trainee Supervisors undergo regular training to ensure that they are equipping trainees with technical legal knowledge and honing their commerciality. Alongside the training that you receive in-seat, the firm encourages you to attend its Trainee Development Workshops, where you will gain an understanding of how to grow your personal brand, learn the broad range of skills necessary for business development and forming client relationships, and give you time to reflect on your mental wellbeing and build your resilience.

Vacation Scheme

TLT's vacation scheme, whether virtual or in person, is the best way to really understand what it’s like to work for TLT.

You will join the firm for up to one week in a team of your choice, working on real client matters, attending meetings and being immersed in TLT life. You will also have the opportunity to socialise with trainees and network with the firm's lawyers, giving you an authentic insight into the firm's work and culture.

As the vacation scheme is one route to a training contract with the firm, assessments will take place throughout the week in the form of a presentation (on a topic of your choice), a strengths-based interview and the opportunity to get involved in our solution-based hackathon.
