As a state school educated, first generation female lawyer with a noticeably different accent (Northern Irish) to most people that I met at networking events, throughout the Training Contract application process, I found it difficult to find legal professionals that I could relate with and look up to. Because of this, from the moment that I secured my training contract offer in 2021, I knew that I wanted to support, guide and represent those aspiring lawyers who feel the same way that I once did. I believe that representation is the first step to ensuring diversity. Today, I mentor students, aspiring lawyers and those interested in the legal profession, and offer advice in relation to vacation scheme\/training contract applications, legal opportunities and transitioning to living in London.
