Profile:

I started my career in the Grant Thornton Tax Investigations department, obtaining my ATT and CTA qualifications. “Not fitting in” was something I was conscious of from an early stage in my career, as a woman from a less affluent ethnic minority background, who was commercial and wanted to build a business, but did not share many of the interests, nor understand much of the humour of my peers.

I have been committed to breaking down barriers and building a more inclusive workplace. I have been with Edwin Coe for almost 10 years and was fortunate to have found a forward-thinking firm ready to support entrepreneurial endeavours. I saw a niche area that I wished to focus on from a business development perspective, and rather than try to bridge the cultural gap I felt, I used my cultural understanding to work with global NRI families. I was made up to Partnership before the age of 30, whilst pregnant, at Edwin Coe. I have seen the importance of diversity throughout my career and can also identify the commercial and wider benefits of having a more diverse workforce. I lead the Diversity and Inclusion initiatives at Edwin Coe.
