Profile:

My career in law started in 1999 working in Employment and Litigation. I commenced my studies via the CILEX route, having very few GCSE’s and no A levels. After 8 years of learning and working in law, I decided that my skillset was better suited to something else and I stumbled across legal recruitment. After a career of 15+ years in legal recruitment and running my own consultancy, I was approached by my longstanding client, Dutton Gregory Solicitors to join them and support their exciting growth plans.

In 2017 I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia following a car accident and this changed my life forever! I had to stop many activities I loved and sought peace/acceptance with my new lifestyle, which I achieved with therapy and a focus on wellbeing.

I was then diagnosed with ADHD in early 2022 and on receiving the diagnoses I felt a wave of relief as suddenly a lot of things, especially in education, made perfect sense! Never did finish the CILEX course!

Being in a family with a husband who is disabled, a step daughter with the same condition and 2 sons with ADHD and Autism, as a family we have learnt to support each other gaining quite a few good coping mechanisms along the way!

ED&I is important for a variety of reasons; I truly believe that we can have the best functioning business if all minority groups are well represented. This not only ensures that we are offering careers that are equal and fair, but also means that we are well rounded when it comes to ideas and decision making, which in turn will provide a better service to clients.

I would love to live in a world where ED&I forms a part of every businesses natural culture! Lets make it happen!
