“After being inspired by the AS Pride event I was encouraged to apply for the AS First and AS Aspire schemes, which led to being offered mentorship from a major firm alongside expert support with putting across my skills and strengths effectively, and to recognise how my uinque experiences are an asset and not something to play down or hide. This and the insight events I attended through AS played a fundamental part in the success of my applications. I was able to differentiate between the firms, select the ones to apply to that I was a good fit for, and confidently put together strong applications and meaningful contributions on the vacation scheme. It really helped me to believe in my abilities and showcase what I have to offer.
