Profile:

I studied Economics at the University of Warwick. Throughout university, I worked for various charitable organisations and when my work in charitable data analytics began to crossover into legal work, I decided to pursue a career in law. I had little knowledge of the legal industry at this point and gained legal work experience through my local council and high street firms. I chose to train at BDB Pitmans after experiencing the welcoming nature of the firm throughout the recruitment process. I felt that my personality and atypical work experience was appreciated and am happy to have now qualified into the Planning, Infrastructure and Public Law team at BDB Pitmans.

Diversity to me means celebrating people’s differences. It is an assurance that we can be ourselves and not have to censor aspects of our personalities to fit in. Promoting diversity allows people to feel valued and creates a more understanding working environment.

AS works to ensure that there is equal opportunity for people of all backgrounds by removing barriers to access. The provision of work experience schemes, mentoring and application help is vital to those who do not have access to this. The work that AS does to diversify the legal industry is extremely valuable and effective and I appreciate being able to take an active role in supporting AS as one if its professional ambassadors.
