Profile:
After completing my English and Comparative Studies Undergraduate Degree at University of Warwick, and then going on to study the GDL at The University of Law and the LPC at BPP University, I finally made it to the working world. I had planned to take a gap year before commencing my training contact in 2021, but, the pandemic hit and I joined BDB PItmans LLP a year early. I first worked for 6 months in the Business Development Team, then I supported the Litigation Department in their work as Solicitors to the Fishmongers’ Hall Inquests and I finally spent a couple of months as a Researcher in the Knowledge Management Team. Since becoming a trainee, I have completed seats in Private Real Estate, Family and Litigation.
Part of my Business Development role was to analyse the firms diversity statistics and consider how we operate in the market. Diversity must be a key focus of any law firm hoping to develop or even maintain its position as new recruits will seek a workplace in which they will be valued and supported, whilst pre-existing employees will want to see their firm evolve to be ever-more inclusive. Diversity brings a wider range of opinions and experiences together to enable progress in the best possible way.
