Profile:

I studied for my undergraduate law degree at the University of Essex where I graduated in 2012. I then spent a year working, during which time I was fortunate enough to receive a scholarship from the Law Society which allowed me to study for my LPC in 2013. I completed my applications for vacation schemes and training contracts alongside my LPC and I was able to secure my training contract whilst I was at law school. I went on to complete my training contract in 2016.

Whilst I always had my mind set on pursuing a legal career, I also spent time working in the banking and financial services industry which gave me great commercial experience and influenced my decision to qualify as a banking and finance solicitor.

I joined Aspiring Solicitors because my own journey to securing my training contract was not without its setbacks and challenges. At one point or another, being black, being state school educated, being female or the fact that I live with a long term health condition have each played their part in creating a barrier to a career in law. As a result I am keen to share my experience with others who are facing the same challenges as I did in the hope that their journey is easier than mine.
