Aspiring Solicitors and Dechert are pleased to be delivering AS Culture on 29 October 2024, celebrating ethnic, religious and cultural diversity within the legal profession.
This event will allow attendees to build their confidence, network, and knowledge, when applying to law firms.
You will have the opportunity to meet other AS Members and hear from diverse legal professionals, building a sense of community with your peers and role models. Panel sessions will discuss how far the profession has come, how to overcome the obstacles faced by these communities and measures being implemented to maintain the progress made. Speakers will also share practice advice to build your skills.

Eligibility
Please note all AS events are for those who are from an under-represented group in the legal profession and this event focuses on those who are from ethnic, cultural and religious minority groups. To attend this event, you must:
- Be in any year of study at undergraduate or postgraduate level or be a graduate
- Want to pursue a legal career at a commercial law firm
- Be ethnically (being from a Black, Asian or another ethnic minority background), culturally and/or religiously diverse
Further information
Reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed up to £100 per person.
Please note that a second AS Culture event is being delivered by Reed Smith in November. You can apply to attend both, but you may only be able to attend one due to demand.
Sign up deadline
The deadline to apply is Tuesday 17 September 2024. However, we encourage you to get your applications in as soon as possible to avoid any disappointment if we reach capacity and close applications earlier than expected.
